When all the details have been agreed upon, preparation work will begin at the workshop to make any of the smaller items and the larger units will be built on-site. Once the installation has finished, a painter can take over the final step of work.

Materials:

Mdf (medium density fibreboard) is the main material that I work with. This is one of the most cost effective yet stable materials to work with, and allows for a paint finish of your choice.

Birch ply is a a light coloured material with the cut edges exposing the multiple layers making up the sheet. This would require a lacquer or oil to seal the surface. You can go for a clear finish or something with a bit of colour, whilst retaining the grain pattern of the material.

Oak veneer is a very thin layer of oak which is layered on top of MDF. This gives you the appearance of oak, at a cost closer to plain mdf. Solid oak can be used to wrap around a oak veneer desk , or be used entirely to make the desk but with a significant price increase. The oak or oak veneer would once again be sealed with a lacquer or oil

Rough times for installation:

6-8 floating shelves - 1 day workshop + 1-2 days onsite

Shelving unit - 1 day workshop + 2-3 days onsite

Alcove cupboard- 1/2 day workshop + 3/4 day onsite

Alcove unit - 1/2 day workshop + 1.5 days onsite

Double door wardrobe with drawers and shaker doors - 1 day workshop + 2 days onsite

Pair of Alcove wardrobes with drawers and shaker doors- 1.5 days workshop + 3.5 days onsite

Wall of wardrobes with drawers and shaker doors- 2 days workshop + 4-5 days onsite

Alcove desk- 1 day workshop + 1 day onsite

Desk unit - 1 day workshop + 2-3 days onsite

Bench seat - 1/2day workshop + 2 days onsite

Radiator cover - 1.5 day workshop + 1.5 day onsite
